The Dark Sun

With hopes high that we are waking up to a new day
The night kept getting darker
Few hours soon we thought would be a sunny day
The darkness of the night kept getting thicker.

What's snow doing in Nigeria?
Was there ever any Harmattan in America?
Did our fathers ever wore shorts?
Have we ever seen a red star here from the Earth?

It's 12 noon says the clock
But there's no sun
What's this?
Where are we?
Have the sun disappeared?

Nine became six
A lion gave birth to a sheep
And a crocodile gave birth to a spider
Very soon would snakes start flying?

If they do what are we in for?
What is happening?
It seems time has stopped
But our wall clock is ticking
Is it just my imagination?
No!
 My neighbour is even complaining.

Why would the clock be ticking for days but no bright light in the sky?
Have we lost our sense of time?
North cannot become South
And South cannot become North
Maybe that was just an assumption
That is now a reality

As the wall clock kept ticking for days
And there was no bright light
We all knew then that the Sun is now dark!
